Design Your Own Art Project
I decided to document the building of our skate ramp. I wanted to show how we started with very little and how much we accomplished. I was proud to see how it all came together and became so much more than I thought it would. I thought that having video elements would highlight how hard we worked on the ramp. It shows specifically what we did to create what we did and how in the end we got to enjoy it and how proud we were of it.
In this project we made logos and put them on things like clothing, water bottles, and sunglasses. I started by just sketching thins up. Once I drew one that I liked I put in illustrator. After that i put it on things in Photoshop.
I think that it is important to have an eye catching logo because everything now is made by split second decisions. If what your showing isn't immediately interesting you could miss out on a lot.
I learned a lot about how to use the pencil and pen tools. I learned how to manipulate the lines to make them do what I want.

Political Cartoon
In this project I learned about how a picture means so much more that words. I learned that you can express what you want a lot more accurately with pictures. By looking at political cartoons I saw how people use images to convey emotion. This is going to help me in the future because I will know how to get what I want out of my art. I have more ways of presenting things that I want. In future projects I will use this to improve my work.
Rodney King Civil Rights Project
Project description/Reflection
In this project we chose an event that happened during the civil rights moment or something that related to it. I chose the beating and trial of Rodney King. I took a picture of king and added a filter to make it black and white. I also took a picture a building burning and some riot police and slanted them into each other. I put the L.A seal over both of the pictures to show it represents the L.A riots. One of the biggest things I took away from this project was how much meaning art can have that's deeper than whats on top. After learning about what happened and made an art piece it gave me a deeper understanding of the topic and how what I made actually means. I learned how art can give a deeper understanding to a topic.
Teacher Creature
Project Reflection- I started this semester having a basic knowledge of Photoshop. Now at the end of the semester I feel much more confident and proud of my work. I used to just be able to do basic editing but now I can do more advanced things that make my work the best it can be. I can now make foreign objects look like they're supposed to be in a new photo.
Photoshop Tutorials
- First I added a layer then I put soft light on the layer. I then chose the brush tool, set the hardness to 0 and clicked on the color pallet and painted the hair. Then I added a clipping mask and changed the color a little more.
- I used the pen tool to outline the eye and then I right clicked and set the pixels to 3 and then I pressed CTRL U and it let me change the hue.
- I used the pen tool to outline the car and then I right clicked and set the pixels to 3 and then I pressed CTRL U and it let me change the hue.

Project Description: In this project I learned that unifying things with color and shape can change a lot about a picture. By putting a filter or making objects the same shape can make the picture mean and feel completely different.
